The Intelligentsia Cup Series
Set to run from July 21 through July 30, 2023, the series features pro and amateur races in and around the Chicago area. For the seventh year, the Village of West Dundee is hosting a race for the 10-stop Intelligentsia Cup Prairie State Cycling Series. West Dundee kicks off the series with the West Dundee River Challenge.
The West Dundee River Challenge
The West Dundee River Challenge is a day of pro/am cycling and is back to the village for its 7th year! The day will feature top riders competing in the opening day of the Prairie State Cycling Classic’s Intelligentsia Cup, plus expanded activities including local restaurants serving up food and libations, live music, race-side dining, a KidZone activity area, and other family-friendly activities.
The start/finish, KidZone and Dundee Open-Air Market return to Grafelman Park with a Restaurant and Entertainment Corridor located down the hill along North 2nd & Washington Streets. The 0.9 mile criterium course loops its way through the historic Old Town North neighborhood with cyclists reaching speeds up to 50 mph on the Geneva St. downhill!

The Restaurant and Entertainment Corridor features local restaurants serving race day
menus and drinks, served race-side to catch all the cycling action at the hair pin turn and the start of "The Leg Breaker". It's an exciting spot to watch the race!
The Music Stage will feature live music to enjoy while eating, drinking and dancing at the end of the racing day.
Family Bike Parade
The Family Bike Parade will give families an opportunity to show off their creativity while parading through a portion of the course. Costumes and themes are encouraged as prizes will be awarded for creativity! Line up starts at 5:45 pm with the parade commencing at 6:15 pm. Sign-up will be available at the Information Tent on the day of the race. Come join the fun!
KidZone and Dundee Open-Air Market
The KidZone will feature the ever-popular Meltdown challenge and the Adrenaline Rush Supreme. Kid-friendly food will be available in Grafelman Park with a greater variety of fare available in the Restaurant and Entertainment Corridor.
