The Intelligentsia Cup Series
Set to run from July 16 - 25, 2021, the series features pro and amateur races in and around the Chicago area. For the fifth year, the Village of West Dundee is hosting a race for the 10-stop Intelligentsia Cup Prairie State Cycling Series. West Dundee kicks off the series with "The West Dundee River Challenge, presented by AMITA Health St. Alexius Medical Center."

The West Dundee River Challenge, presented by AMITA Health St. Alexius Medical Center, is a day of pro/am cycling and is back to the village for its 5th year!The day will feature top riders competing in the opening day of the Prairie State Cycling Classic’s Intelligentsia Cup, plus expanded activities including local restaurants serving up food and libations, live music, race-side dining, a KidsZone activity area, and other family-friendly activities.
The start/finish, KidZone and Expo Area return to Grafelman Park with a Restaurant and Entertainment Corridor added down the hill along North 2nd & Washington Streets. The 0.9 mile criterium course loops its way through the historic Old Town North neighborhood with cyclists reaching speeds up to 50 mph on the Geneva St. downhill!

The Restaurant and Entertainment Corridor will be open until 10:30 pm and will feature local restaurants including Bleuroot, The Village Squire, Emmett’s Brewing Company, and more. Exciting course-side dining will be available.
The RAM Tile LLC Music Stage will feature live music from The Bucks (5:30 pm - 7:40 pm) and The Lenny’s (8:15 pm - 10:30 pm).
Family Bike Parade
Sponosred by Elder + Oat | Bread and Coffee Collective, the Family Bike Parade will give families an opportunity to show off their creativity while parading through a portion of the course. Costumes and themes are encouraged as prizes will be awarded for several fun categories! Line up starts at 5:45 pm with the parade commencing at 6:15 pm. Sign-up is available online and in-person on the day of the race. Come join the fun!
KidZone and Expo Area
Many family-friendly activities will be available, including:
Meltdown, the inflatable action game, provided by CIHW.
Kids' bicycle safety clinic, provided by Team Skyline and Winning the Race with Diabetes;
Cycling Demonstrations provided by Chicago Area Mountain Bikers.
