Prime Donations

A prime (pronounced preem after the French word for “gift”) is a prize awarded to the winner of a single lap in any race. A bell is often rung for that lap. Race organizers use primes to motivate riders, create excitement among spectators and give you an opportunity to gain publicity by sponsoring a prime. For many racers, this is the only prize they receive. See the Leg Breaker Prime Races from 2019 below.

Area businesses, residents and organizations are invited to sponsor primes in the West Dundee River Challenge. Primes are a strong race incentive for elite riders to participate and are collected in increments of $250, $200 and $75.

 

Prime donors will have their names announced over the public address system by the  professional race announcers. 80% of the prime goes directly to the riders, with the 20% promo fee going back into the festivities.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization and your contribution may be tax deductible in accordance with the law.
