HOST A CYCLIST
Interested in getting to know some of the racers and more about pro/am cycling?
House one, many or all members of a race team!
The Chicago Grit Racing Series welcomes cyclists from across the globe to race in our community and the greater Chicagoland area. To help make participation possible and affordable, we connect racers with generous local host families who can offer a place to stay during the racing series — July 17-26.
Hosting is Rewarding and Exciting
By opening your home to a rider or team member, you play a direct role in bringing high-level cycling to West Dundee. Host housing is a key piece of making events like ours successful and accessible.

Many hosts find the experience incredibly rewarding—and often welcome riders back year after year.
What’s Expected from Hosts?
Cyclists are extremely appreciative of host families and are typically friendly, respectful, and low-maintenance.
Hosts are generally asked to provide:

A comfortable place to sleep

Access to a bathroom and shower

Space in a refrigerator and use of the kitchen

A secure place to store bicycles
-
Basic access to come and go (key, keypad code, or arrangement)
Hosts are NOT expected to provide:

Meals or groceries
-
Transportation
-
Cleaning or hospitality services
Your role is simply to offer a safe, welcoming place to stay.
